Biography


American mezzo-soprano, Michaela Swan, is quickly emerging as a versatile, sought-after singer. Ms. Swan graduated from the Eastman School of Music (‘18), and is now establishing herself in the Chicago area. She has performed roles such as Nancy in Britten’s Albert Herring , Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica , and the Contessa in Giordano’s Mese Mariano. Ms. Swan has also performed in Finger Lakes Opera’s production of Carmen as a chorus member. Ms. Swan also has a background in musical theatre, where she performed roles such as Dolly in Hello, Dolly! , Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast , and Lady Larkin in Once Upon A Mattress. Ms. Swan has performed with jazz musicians such as Dave Rivello’s Eastman New Jazz Ensemble, The Rod Blumenau Band, Tia Fuller and Tamir Hendelman. Ms. Swan has also appeared in a number of different masterclasses, some of which have been with Adam Guettel, Stephanie Blythe, and Warren Jones.
